Wonderful pair of large antique tintype photographs dating from the 1800s, featuring individual portraits of a gentleman and a woman in period clothing.

These are unusually large examples compared with the small tintypes commonly encountered. Each portrait has been hand-tinted/finished, giving the faces and backgrounds additional detail and character.

Both show age-related wear, surface marks and losses consistent with genuine antique photographs of this period. They have a fantastic untouched appearance and would make an excellent addition to a collection of early photography, Victorian antiques, genealogy pieces or historical décor.
