1954 Royal Yacht Britannia Shipbuilder Marine Engineer Deck Plan Plate XI 14\" For Sale

Original July 1954 technical plate of the Royal Yacht Britannia, published in The Shipbuilder and Marine Engine Builder.

The sheet is identified as Plate XI and titled “Her Majesty the Queen’s Yacht and Hospital Ship ‘Britannia’”, noting that the vessel was built and engined by John Brown & Co. (Clydebank), Ltd.

The detailed technical drawing shows a side profile and multiple deck layouts of Britannia, including the bridge deck, shelter deck, royal apartments, crew areas, machinery spaces, hospital-related areas and other shipboard compartments.

The plate measures approximately 14\" x 11\" and is printed on very thin lightweight paper. It has been folded and appears to have originally been issued as part of the July 1954 publication rather than as a standalone modern reproduction.

The Royal Yacht Britannia was launched in 1953 and served the British Royal Family for more than four decades before being decommissioned in 1997. Today the preserved yacht is permanently berthed at Leith in Edinburgh, Scotland.
