Antique/Vintage Horseshoe – Goldfield, Nevada Area Desert Find
Fascinating old iron horseshoe personally recovered from an abandoned historic site in the Goldfield, Nevada area, one of Nevada’s legendary mining regions.
This is an authentic used horseshoe, not a modern decorative reproduction. It shows extensive age, oxidation, mineral deposits, surface encrustation and heavy wear from use and long-term exposure.
This particular shoe has an especially interesting irregular, heavily worn appearance, with numerous nail holes still visible along the branches. Its uneven shape and substantial wear give it tremendous Western character.
Goldfield became one of Nevada’s most famous mining boom towns following major gold discoveries in the early 1900s. Horses and other working animals were an essential part of transportation, freight and everyday life throughout Western mining communities during this period.
IMPORTANT: The exact age of this horseshoe has not been professionally determined. Because horseshoes of similar construction remained in use for extended periods, I am not claiming a specific manufacture date or that this shoe belonged to a particular mine, ranch, person or business. Its significance is that it was personally found at an old abandoned site in the Goldfield, Nevada area.
CONDITION: Heavily weathered, rusted and encrusted as found. Significant surface oxidation, pitting, wear and deterioration are present. Please study all photographs carefully. It has intentionally not been restored or aggressively cleaned, preserving its as-found desert relic appearance.
An excellent conversation/display piece for collectors of Goldfield Nevada memorabilia, Western Americana, mining history, ghost-town artifacts, antique horseshoes, equestrian history and Nevada relics.
You will receive the exact horseshoe pictured.
A genuine piece of the Nevada desert with an incredible naturally aged appearance.
