Beautiful, unusual antique wooden antique Nino De Atocha, a Roman Catholic image of Christ as a small child wearing a hat and sitting in a chair or on a throne; it varies depending on country - it is popular almost exclusively in Latin America. Carved out of what appears to be a single piece of wood, he usually carries a staff in one hand and a piece of basket in another and protects travellers from bad luck and spirits - both are missing in the case. Probably from the late 19th or early 20th century.
