The Blue Dragonware Moriage Japanese Tea Set features 6 settings with a total of 19 pieces. Hand painted in Japan in the 1950s, this tea set showcases traditional Japanese culture with its exquisite design.
The set includes 6 cups, 6 saucers, and 6 matching dessert plates, as well as a sugar urn. They are all adorned with a beautiful blue dragonware moriage pattern, which means it has some 3D elements to the images on the pottery. This causes the pieces to have a delightful texture. There are some imperfections in the glazing (see images) but that is part of hwo they were made, rather than damage to the pieces themselves.
The provenance of this collectible tea set adds to its charm, making it a unique and authentic piece for any tea lover's collection. Our family friend bought the set in Japan in the 1950's and never used it once as it sat in her china cabinet untouched for all these years.
Please note that there is NO TEAPOT in the set. We do not know where that piece ended up.
