ITEM DESCRIPTION

This vintage Hertwig & Co German Porcelain Cherub With Basket Figurine is in Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. Made in Germany, this charming porcelain figure dates to approximately 1920–1950 and measures approximately 5 1/4\" tall.

The figurine depicts a young putto or cherub standing barefoot on a round porcelain base. The child is modeled in glossy white porcelain with delicately sculpted facial features, tousled hair, and a wonderfully expressive pose.

One hand holds a small suspended basket finished in a vivid red-orange glaze. The basket hangs from a dark wire or cord-style handle, creating an unusual mixed-material detail and adding a striking touch of color against the otherwise white porcelain figure.

The underside bears the green Hertwig & Co factory mark, helping identify this attractive German porcelain figure.

PATTERN & DESIGN

This delightful Hertwig & Co figurine combines the traditional European putto or cherub subject with an unusual suspended basket accessory. The figure is modeled with a rounded childlike form, softly detailed hair, expressive face, and a natural standing pose.

The bright red-orange basket provides a dramatic contrast to the glossy white porcelain and gives the piece considerably more character than a conventional monochrome putto figurine. The separate hanging basket also makes this an especially interesting example for collectors of early German porcelain figurines and Hertwig & Co pieces.

This measures 5 1/4\" High x 2 1/8\" Wide base. I have provided many pictures to best describe the condition of this Figurine.
