VERY RARE CIRCUS CABINET PHOTO - "JUMBO" THE ELEPHANT - $30,000 PAID BY BARNUM& TAKEN BY E. BIERSTADT -You are considering an very rare original photo taken of the largest known elephant in the wild or in captivity and known as, "JUMBO!" He is captured here by Bierstadt in 1882 with his long time trainer feeding the gigantic pachyderm. The strong outdoor portrait with fine details will make agreat addition to your collection of circus photography.CONDITION: Pleaseview my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The cabinet photo is in excellent good condition. The print and mount remain bold and in excellent antique condition. The front of the mount has two printed notations about Jumbo and his owners. Note: This image is an Artotype which is made with permanent ink that will never fade and will always retain its value. The reverse of the mount contains the photographer's stamp and other info, plus a rubber stamp of Fred Tower. Some very minor bumps to the corners and a few faint creases on the backside are the only imperfections I can find.
