“THE DIAMOND 100 MILER” ORIGINALLY KNOWN AS THE “ANNUAL DIAMOND 100 MILER” WAS FOUNDED IN THE EARLY1970’S IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND WAS A PROMINENT EQUESTRIAN ENDURANCE RIDE THROUGH THE RUGGED MOUNTAIN TRAILS OF THE PLUMAS NATIONAL FORREST. THIS PREMIUM HANDCRAFTED STERLING SILVER BELT BUCKLE WAS AWARDED TO ONE OF THE SUCCESSFUL RIDERS FROM THAT ERA WHO COMPLETED THE 100 MILE TRAIL IN ONE DAY.
The condition is very nice showing just minor signs of use and minor tarnish, as would be expected on a 50+ year old sterling silver item. It is a premium western American made Diablo brand buckle featuring hand engraving and the customary Diablo flap/ latch clasp. It measures 3 1/2” x 2 1/2”, fits belts up to 1 1/2” wide and weighs about 4 ounces.
