Vintage 1910 Postcard St Johns Catholic Church Lambertville NJ New Jersey
Take a stroll down the streets of early twentieth century Lambertville New Jersey with this beautifully tinted lithograph of St Johns Roman Catholic Church. The grand stone gothic architecture of the church makes quite a striking visual contrast standing right next door to a delightfully bright green house with perfectly matching window shutters. The card was mailed out of Lambertville in June of 1910 making its way down south to New Orleans with a very brief scribbled message of love on the back. Physically you will notice it carries over a century of character including some standard age toning edge wear and a noticeable paper chip missing from the bottom left corner of the front but the historic colors remain wonderfully vibrant.
As an authentic vintage piece, this item may show typical signs of age, which can include minor edge wear, soft or bumped corners, slight yellowing, and light surface blemishes. Please carefully examine all provided high-resolution photos for the most accurate and definitive representation of the item\'s condition prior to purchasing. Trivia Corner
The parish of St Johns in Lambertville was originally established in the mid nineteenth century specifically to serve the massive influx of Irish Catholic immigrants. These hardworking newcomers flocked to the area looking for employment digging the nearby Delaware and Raritan Canal and eventually raised the funds to build this magnificent stone structure using locally quarried materials.
