The Naniloa Hotel opened in 1939 on the Waiakea Peninsula waterfront that a group of Hilo businessmen led by Senator W.H. \"Doc\" Hill had leased in 1938, on the former site of the Hilo Yacht Club. By the era of this menu it was the founding property of Inter-Island Resorts, the growing hotel chain — later controlled by Walter D. Child — that also came to include the Kona Inn and Kauaʻi Inn. The building still stands at 93 Banyan Drive, since extensively rebuilt as the Grand Naniloa Hotel.
