Beautiful and unusual vintage artisan character doll depicting an elderly grandmother/woman.
The doll is signed/marked on the back of the neck “Darlene S” and dated “85,” believed to indicate 1985. The artist\'s full identity has not been independently confirmed, so please review the close-up photos of the marking.
She has wonderful character and detail, including a realistically sculpted aged face and hands, gray hair, blue eyes, black bonnet, floral blouse, layered lace-trimmed clothing, black cape with burgundy/red lining, and black lace-up shoes.
She also comes with the miniature accessories shown in the photos, including a tiny snowman, miniature household/tool pieces, small grater, baby/child figure and other tiny pieces. I cannot confirm whether all of these accessories were originally made or sold with the doll.
Condition: Pre-owned vintage condition. There is age-related wear, dust/lint and some discoloration/aging visible on the clothing and lace. No attempt has been made to heavily clean or restore her. Please enlarge and review all photos carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
