A sweet cherub vase made in Japan. A chubby little putto with tiny wings and a yellow drape stands on a rustic log base, one arm raised toward a spray of applied pastel flowers and pointed leaves. Behind him, a raised panel shows a courting couple in period dress.
Behind the flowers is an opening that works as a small bud vase or spill vase for matches and dried stems, though it works just fine as a figurine ;)
Marked "MADE IN JAPAN" in red on the underside.
📏 Measures just under 6" tall.
Condition: Good vintage condition with no chips or cracks found. Light dust and age soiling in the recesses of the bisque, which is typical for unglazed porcelain, and some minor wear to the painted detail. Please see all photos.
