Beautiful vintage M.I. Hummel Madonna Plaque HUM 48/II by Goebel.
This is the iconic bas-relief plaque first modeled in 1936 by master sculptor Reinhold Unger, featuring the Virgin Mary tenderly cradling the infant Jesus against a deep cobalt blue background with cream and gold halo accents. Handcrafted in W. Germany.
Details:
Measures exactly 4-1/2" tall x 3.24" wide x approx 3/4" deep relief - measured with tape (see photo). This is the small size HUM 48/0 version of the famous Madonna Plaque. First modeled in 1936 by Reinhold Unger and listed as Temporarily Withdrawn from production on 31 Dec 1989.
