Vintage Valley Forge USA Flag - 9ft 6in x 4ft 6in - Sewn Cotton 50 Star For Sale

Large vintage American 50-star flag manufactured by Valley Forge Flag Company Inc., Spring City, Pennsylvania.

A superb older quality flag made from 100% cotton bunting, with individually sewn/appliqué stars and fully sewn red and white stripes. This is a substantial traditional flag rather than a modern printed example.

The original faded Valley Forge “BEST” label remains attached to the reinforced hoist and reads “100% Cotton-Bunting - Valley Forge Flag Company, Inc. - Spring City, PA 19475”. The use of the 19475 ZIP code dates this label format to no earlier than 1963, and the flag is believed to date from approximately the 1960s-1980s. The last photo shows what the label would look like if it hadn’t faded.

The previous owner advised that the flag had been dry stored within the same family for approximately 35 years.

Good vintage used condition with age-related wear, marks, creasing and general signs of previous use and storage. Some small repairs, areas of fading etc but overall the flag remains bright and vibrant. The cotton has developed the character and patina expected of an older working flag.
