As much a piece of sculpture as it is a piece of tableware, this “Kalmar” fruit bowl made for Arthur Salm (AS Sweden) makes an elegant statement in stainless steel and teak about Scandinavian design simplicity and use of materials. Introduced in the late 1950s, the bowl consists of a main curve of 18-8 stainless steel met by organic walnut side panels and feet with gentle curves and hinted reflections. The curved edges of the wood contrast with the stark hard reflective metal. A superb piece of design which would grace any home, particularly one with a Scandinavian influence.
Measures 10.0 inches x 9.75 inches x about 4.5 inches tall.
