The Much Harder to find Newsstand edition!
Unlike at your comic book store, newsstand books were handled uncaringly by the general public. Books were Destroyed by the Dreaded Spinner Rack Spine Bend (SRSB) as kids bent books in half to see the ones behind the other ones!!!! Kids with snotty noses and sticky fingers Damaged books too!!!! This Heresy was happening at your local 7-11 and other locations! That\'s why newsstands are hard to come by in better conditions!
I\'ve provided a historical chart with estimates from industry leaders like Chuck from Mile High Comics concerning the distribution of Direct to comic stores vs Newsstands.
Newsstands were returned for credit if they didn\'t sell unlike direct versions so that fact lowers the % further. With this Awesome book 10-15% of the print run were est. Newsstand. How many were sent back and then how many survived in high grade shape!???
Once collectors really understand the rarity of Newsstands in great shape we all know what will happen!!
Note: Poly Bagged books like the Awesome book are horrendous with having a vertical indent down the middle of the front cover due to the bag seal from the book that was stacked on top of it from the distributor. It\'s very hard to find one without the vertical indent!
CGC doesn\'t care about the poster/bag that came with the book!! YOU get them!
