ANTIQUE 1852 SAVANNAH LETTER REGARDING GEORGIA RIVER STEAMBOAT 'ISAAC SCOTT": $19.99
Please email with any questions. 9 3/4" by 7 3/4" handwritten letter dated 11/25/1852. On pale blue paper with embossed watermark P&S upper left. Letter sent from Brigham & Kelly Co. Brigham and Kelly was a commission merchant company in Savannah, Georgia, that operated between 1845 and 1857. The partners, Henry Brigham (ca. 1812-1883) and John J. Kelly (b. 1817) officially dissolved the partnership in June 1857. Sent to merchants in Macon, Georgia it reads: Gents, Please sent the enclosed ? list to Mr D R Matthewson, Hawkinsville, first opportunity. The Scott left this morning with a small freight. Capt quinn died yesterday morning. ". Some fold lines and some soiling.
