Presenting an exquisite vintage Art Deco phenolic catalin bakelite and lacquered wood clock case.This magnificent example beautifully combines sleek curves and clean lines to create a perfectly balanced piece which wonderfully encapsulates all of the elegance and energy of the Art Deco period.A sleekly curved ring of rich butterscotch amber bakelite forms the circular casing that would have originally housed a clock mechanism. The circular bakelite casing is beautifully elevated atop a stylishly scrolled black lacquered wood base, its offset position creating a wonderfully dynamic yet harmoniously balanced design which is a delight to behold.An exceptionally stylish and sophisticated example of quality Art Deco design!SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 95mms tall, measures 150mms in length and 40mms in width. The circular bakelite casing has an internal diameter of 57mms.WEIGHT: This piece weighs 185 grams.CONDITION: This fine example is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some exceptionally minor age related crackling, along with a couple of minuscule white inclusions which to the black lacquered base noticeable only on extremely close examination but mentioned for compete accuracy. The bakelite element has a wonderfully rich colour which has darkened to the outer surface with time. This piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly.
