This 8" x 8" Navajo sandpainting depicts "Mother Earth and Father Sky" as the artist has written on the back. He or she also signed it but unfortunately the sticker that explains what Navajo sandpainting is, is covering the signature. It looks like "Qazzu" or possibly "Pazzu" but there's no easy way to tell for sure without peeling the sticker off of the wood backing, which I didn't want to do. I included the best picture of the signature that I could get.
Please read the sticker for an explanation as to the origin of these special sandpaintings. The previous owner also wrote when & where they got it on the back--Pine Top Arizona, 2002.
The painting itself seems to be in great shape. There are a couple of very small flaws on the frame (see pictures) but nothing that couldn't be easily touched up if desired.
Please refer to all pictures as part of the description and ask any other questions before purchasing. Vintage pieces may have been used and some wear should be expected.
I try to ship the same day the order is paid. I am also happy to combine shipping.
Thanks for looking!
