A local estate find, this antique teapot, sugar, and creamer set hails from the 1920s from the Moriyama factory in Mori-machi Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. Each piece features hand-painted gold gilding in a floral and curlicue design, on a white and cream colored background. The Moriyama mark is present under each piece.
The teapot is about 7 1/2" tall with the lid on, 5 1/2" to the rim without the lid.I see two unobtrusive chips in the set - one right on the edge of the sugar bowl, and a fleabite mark under where the handle attaches to the creamer. The gold gilding design on the main panels are in excellent condition; the gilding is worn on the top pulls and on the handles to a degree. This set has been used and loved over the years. I do not see significant staining in the interior.
