Description
All original Art Deco painted cast iron smoking stand manufactured by Art Specialty Company and originating from around the 1920’s-30’s. The stand is cast iron construction with original paint and silver accents. The piece shows a wonderful art deco style with geometric shapes and patterns throughout. The stand features platform with two faceted glass ashtrays with plated brass swivel covers and a metal container for matches or other. The glass ashtrays have a pale pink cast, very unusual. The piece is marked on the underside of the platform \"Art Specialty Co. Chicago ILL. Pat Applied For A S 723”.
The piece is in very good condition overall with some wear across the piece indicative of age including wear to the original paint and a partial tight split in one ashtray holder collar as shown last photo which does not affect the piece and is noted for accuracy. The metal inserts have minor plating wear. The stand measures 27 1/2\" tall by 13 3/4\" long by 7 3/4\" wide.
