This is an extensive letter from Captain Edward L Beach to Edwin Weisl of New York City a Democratic National Committeeman and dear friend of Lyndon B. Johnson.
The USS Triton, a nuclear submarine, circumnavigated the earth underwater for 84 days and was the first vessel to do so. It was called Operation Sandblast.
Captain Beach was the submarine commander at the time.
