Founder of the famous Usaburo Kokeshi. He was born in Gunma Prefecture in 1917 and began making kokeshi dolls in 1950. He is considered a pioneer in the world of kokeshi due to the original machines he developed to make kokeshi and how he revolutionized the carving and firing process by introducing new techniques.
