Magnificent Hand-painted Famille Rose Porcelain Floor Jar , Solid Wood Pedestal.
Beautifully detailed with traditional palace courtyard scenes and rich floral elements, this classically proportioned temple jar’s age is estimated to be mid to late 20th century. The stand/base is solid wood finished in ebony lacquered enamel. Jar and base are in excellent, previously owned condition with no nicks, chips, cracks or abrasion to the finishes.
Rich, traditional artwork in Moriage texturing is implemented to give this jar a majestic, dimensional appearance and feel. Embellished with gold glazed salamanders or “chilong” mythical beasts as handles and decorative elements, the jar is stunning in its detail.
Jar Dimensions: Overall Height, 30.5”. Diameter of jar at waist, 16”. Circumference of jar, 46.5”. Mouth opening, 11.5”. Base diameter, 11.25”. Total height of jar on the base is 40.5”.
Base Dimensions: Diameter across knees, 17”. Base level on side of stand/stool, 17”. Jar pad diameter, 13.5”. Circumference at widest point, 46.5”. Height of stand is 10”. Felt pads are placed under feet and neoprene cushions are on base pad to protect porcelain and wooden base from each other.
All of our porcelains are carefully cleaned and sanitized prior to listing and sale. The jar and it’s base are in excellent, vintage (though not antique) condition, with no nicks, chips, cracks, or abrasion.
