RARE 1914 Antique Rothesay from West POSTCARD - message mentions "Suffragettes":

GOOD Cond with some foxing on the back - genuine original antique postcard - sent in 1914 to Mrs J Firth, Greta Bank, Upper Woodlands Rd, Manningham, Bradford, Yorkshire the value of this postcard as an historical document is part of the message from a lady who is holidaying in Scotland and she says "I am surprised to see in the paper today the Suffragettes have been at Burns House. I thought about our lovely day you & I had there" - date on the stamp is 9th July 1914 which is the very day that the Suffragettes tried to blow up Burns House - see scans of both sides.If you are collecting antique or vintage postcards for their future investment value, then only GENUINE ORIGINAL ones like ours will increase substantially in value! A quick internet search will come up with this info - "On 9 July 1914, Frances Parker and Ethel Moorhead cycled from Glasgow to Alloway in the middle of the night, with the intention of blowing up Burns Cottage! However, their plans were foiled by a watchman – and Ethel got away – but Frances was arrested"
