This is one beatiful Beaver Lake, hailing from Pike County, Illinois, where so many fine points have been found over the years. According to writing on the point, this was owned by Jim Cox of Iowa. You may remember Jim: he sold those beautiful, inlaid frames for Indian relics at alll the major shows back in the day. He was also known for his keen eye, and when you hold this relic in your hand you will appreciate Jim's talent for selecting only the finest examples of each type This one is a hair under 3 1/2," is extremely thin, has the slightest hint of a medial ridge toward the point and has -- intact ! -- great little ears that really make the point. I purchased this from Brandon Vandever way back when. Perhaps it is time to step up to the plate, if you want the very best!
Sinced the original posting, I have located a COA on this point from Jim Bennett, a highly respected authenticator. It is dated 4/19/14. Folks, this is one of the best poiints I have offered.
