At one time the restaurant chain known as Sambo’s was the place to go for great pancakes and “tiger butter”. The story went that the little boy chased the tiger so fast that it turned to butter…the chain turned to bankruptcy in 1978. This mug is very cute….Sambo’s story is not…but that’s another story. No damage, no loss of paint on the tiger or the name and place. It does look as if there is a chip on the bottom but it’s a manufacturing flaw and not a chip. Made in New Castle, PA. You just can’t get these anymore.
