A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT MAISEL\'S

....

Maisel\'s of Albuquerque (The Maisel company Maisels Indian Trading Post)  was established in the 1930s on old Route 66 in New Mexico and founded by Morris Maisel

From the 1930s through the 1950s Morris Maisel employed over 300 Native American Indian Craftsmen to create items for the store, including this WONDERFUL / AUTHENTIC sterling silver and turquoise ring. During this time period they used the Kachina doll to Hallmark these pieces.

Most of the Jewelers were either Hopi or Navajo.  There were however, Pueblo and Zuni in the area, at this time. A lot of the turquoise used by the Jewelers came from either the Kingman Mine in Arizona, or the Royston mine in Nevada.

In the 1960s, after Morris Maisels death, the store was closed. In the 1980s Morris\'s grandson Skip re-opened the store and changed the name to Skip Maisels The Kackina Doll stamp was no longer used by Skip Maisel. in the in 2019 Skip retired, and the store was closed. You will notice on this ring, the original price tag put on by the MAISEL company between 1930 and 1950. This vintage ring is like brand new! Never worn

THANKS FOR LOOKING! 😊 HAVE A HAPPY DAY!
