It has a blue background with white bas-relief and depicts 3 masted sailing ships in full sail amongst waves and the figure ofMatthew Flindersin naval uniform standing beside. There is a beautiful wreathed leaf border around edge of plate and embossed with \"Capt. Matthew Flinders, R.N., Born March 16, 1774. There is the Wedgwood impressed backstamp on the back: \"Wedgwood, Made in England, HO.\" Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Diameter=8 inches, Depth=7/8 inch. This marvelous dish has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks or other imperfections.
