The checks are from the Fifth Avenue Bank in New York and are from a Helen Rapallo. Each check has a two cent tax stamp added, the overprinted two cent provisional (R155). These were required as of July 1, 1898 in order to help finance the ongoing Spanish American War. Assorted signatures and bank stamps on reverse.
