Original Vintage 1968 Joe's Restaurant Menu 227 Biscayne Street Miami Beach Dade County Florida
Joe Weiss, a New Yorker who came to Miami Beach in 1913 for his health, was running his own restaurant in a converted Biscayne Street bungalow by December 1920. After a visiting Harvard ichthyologist introduced him to Florida stone crabs around 1921, the chilled, cracked claws became the house specialty. By the era of this menu the restaurant had passed to Weiss's son Jesse and had long drawn movie stars, politicians, and gangsters; Joe's still operates in Miami Beach today.
It measures 12" x 6.5" closed and 13" x 12" open.
