Antique 1878 handwritten pocket account book from James A. Gunn & Co., Wholesale and Retail Grocers (Avenue A, Turners Falls, Massachusetts). Issued to customer C. A. Davis, featuring 2 pages of itemized handwritten grocery purchases from June and July 1878. Rare piece of local Massachusetts merchant paper ephemera. Toned cover shows age-appropriate wear. Interior includes handwritten entries on a couple of pages (with two pages stuck together), approximately 6 blank pages, and child\'s pencil scribbles on the final page which is detached. Shows some edge staining throughout, but binding remains intact.
