Rare Antique 1882 Saint Francis of Assisi 7th Centenary Italian MedalUp for sale is a highly collectible, historically significant 19th-century Italian religious medal. This piece was struck specifically to commemorate the 700th centenary anniversary of Saint Francis's birth (born c. 1181/1182).
- Obverse (Front): Features a detailed relief bust of Saint Francis of Assisi facing right, depicted with a halo, his hand placed over his heart in prayer. Surrounded by the Italian inscription: "S. FRANCESCO D'ASSISI".
- Reverse (Back): Contains the commemorative text inside a bordered circle: "MEMORIA DEL VII° CENTENARIO DI S. FRANCESCO D'ASSISI", boldly dated 1882 at the bottom.
- Condition: Excellent antique condition given its age. Shows a warm, authentic chocolate-brass patina with clear, highly readable lettering. The loop at the top remains fully intact and strong. Please refer to the high-resolution images for exact condition details.
