Antique GM Electric Co No 501 110V 16W Heated Hand Tool Wood Handle Industrial For Sale

Unusual early electric hand tool marked “GM-EL-CO / NO. 501 / 110V-16W / A,” believed to indicate manufacture by GM Electric Co.
Features a substantial turned hardwood handle, long iron body, mechanical lever mechanism and an attractive copper/copper alloy thumb control. The original electrical cord entered through the end of the wooden handle but has since been removed. Clamping mechanism works properly with smooth function.
Construction and materials appear consistent with an early-to-mid 20th-century tool, possibly circa 1920s–1940s, although the exact date has not been documented.
A particularly interesting survivor with wonderful industrial character—aged hardwood, heavy iron construction, copper hardware and substantial original patina. Excellent collectible for an antique tool, early electrical, industrial, trade-tool or primitive collection.
Considerable oxidation, surface rust, finish loss and age-related wear throughout. Wooden handle has scratches and wear consistent with age. Sold as a collectible/display piece in as-found condition. Please review photos carefully.
