Darlene Nampeyo Hopi-Tewa Signed Polychrome Pottery 4.25" Native American For Sale

Beautiful signed pottery by Darlene James Nampeyo, noted Hopi-Tewa potter of the Corn Clan & descendant of the renowned Nampeyo pottery family.
This unusual low-profile piece measures approximately 4¼" across × 1½" tall, with a ¾" square opening in the center. It features an intricate hand-painted geometric design in traditional earthy black, red & buff tones.
The underside is clearly hand-signed “Darlene Nampeyo” and includes an additional incised artist/clan symbol.
I have not been able to identify the exact name or intended function of this unusual square-opening form, so I am leaving that interpretation to the collector rather than guessing.
Condition: Pre-owned with natural variations, firing marks and surface characteristics consistent with handmade pottery. Please examine all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the description.
Measurements: Approx. 4¼" diameter × 1½" H; center opening approx. ¾" square.
