Italian Model 1871/87/16 Vetterli Vitali Bayonet Knife + Sheath TERNI TR1430 For Sale

Antique Italian Model 1871/87/16 Vetterli Vitali Rifle Bayonet, measures 14.5" overall with a blade length of 9.5" and with a inside socket diameter of approx. .690". TERNI marked ricasso with a "RS" logo above it, serial no. on the guard, and a cartouche on each side of the pommel sides. Excellent working press-stud, excellent bake-lite style handles. Comes with the correct leather and brass sheath, leather shows some faint markings on the back. Overall very good showing some handling wear, use, age patina.These were made for the Model 1871/87/16 Vetterli 10.4mm Bolt Action Rifles, I hear they may have actually been made in late WWI to fit obsolete VV70 weapons.
