Before the Civil War, a fellow named Hazard Knowles patented the first metal plane. He didn't mark them and in that era, planes were made by many small shops. For that reason, these planes are typically labelled as Knowles type planes. A hallmark of a Knowles plane is a raised tube holding the front knob such as this one.
This specimen is in excellent condition. It does not look like anyone ever touched the finish or replace any parts. The tote and front knob match and are in great condition.
Measurements are in the photos.
Shipment will be made by FedEx. It will be well packed.
