USS Charles J Badger WWII Identified Dairies Kamikaze Attacks Okinawa Japanese For Sale

An amazing war diary lot covering the WWII battles of the destroyer USS Charles J. Badger. The set consists of three handwritten diaries spanning 1941-1945, a "War Cruise of the Charles J. Badger" map, and the sailor's named Crossing the Line certificate from King Neptune. These diaries are solid WWII original source material and apparently the only written history of this ship extant.
The diaries note plans, locations, advance dates and other information. The first diary notes Pearl Harbor and his enrollment and runs all the way to January 26, 1945. The second runs from January 27 to May 11, 1945, and the third from May 12 to August 16, 1945. This ship earned its stars and the author served in true combat as the diaries include many air battles against kamikaze and other Japanese aircraft as well as battles in the Philippines and Okinawa. The diaries are 3" x 5" notebooks, each with about 50 pages. Two have writing on all pages and the third is about 1/3 full.The War Cruise Map is a panoramic photograph about 28" x 10" and includes three photos of the ship in addition to notations of major events. The Crossing the Line certificate is about 19" x 15".
Overall Goodcondition as shown. The main item to note is the third diary: Some type of spill has adhered the edges of the first pages together, and the first two pages are stuck to the cover. I am thinking they could be steamed apart but I leave that to the winner. The map is a photo and has some small edge tears and stains, and seemingly has always been rolled. The certificate has staining and wear. There is overall toning from age and edge wear to all documents. The pages are supple and not brittle from age. Displays really well!
