*** EXTREMELY RARE!!! *** IMPECCABLE SHAPE!!! ****** OEM!!! *** FREE, INSURED SHIPPING!!! ***Up for purchase is a very rare, 1920's-1930's Mack truck hinged radiator cap/bulldog hood ornament that was recently removed from a 1936 Mack fire truck.Some more specifics ~ This is a very hard-to-find, long-eared bulldog radiator cap/hood ornament... measures slightly over 5" in height from the base of the cap to the top of the ears with an additional 5/8" if you include the hinged portion... the base/cap is 3-5/8" O.D. and 2-1/2" I.D.... has "Mack" on the bulldog's collar and "Design Patent 87931" on the chest... the bulldog is mounted to the radiator cap with (2) bolts... includes the retainer pin which attaches the cap to the base... has "4BM 253" and "Alemite" stamped underneath the cap...(I believe) is made of brass with a steel coating whichweighs slightly over 2 lb. (whereas the later chromed designs are much lighter in weight)... and has a STUNNING, somewhat "brushed" steel silver color to it.
This is in IMPECCABLE shape for being 90+ years old!!! Has absolutely NO cracks, chips, or deep scratches... the bulldog's face, paws, ears, collar, etc. are EXTREMELY DETAILED... the hinge is strong and intact... the "brushed" steel is EXCEPTIONAL - unlike most chrome plated ones where the finish gets pitted and/or flakes off... and the stamping on the collar, chest, and underside of the cap is clear and visible!!!Please email with any questions.And feel free to compare with others on ebay - one of which isthe later chromed finish, shows pitting and flaking, and is still asking $775 + $35 shipping!!! 😱😨😱
