WITCHCRAFT (2025) Fantagraphics edition TPB Sole Otero For Sale

My two choices (on ebay) for comics tradition are \"US\" and \"UK\". If Fantagraphics does nothing else, it establishes definitively that there is at least \"Other\". (We\'ll leave the exclusion of Manga for another discussion / rant.)In Understanding Comics, Scott McCloud gave us beautiful, detailed insight into what makes comics, with strong emphasis on traditional US comics, work. He was very clear that there is plenty of room for expression beyond ordered panel construction and (fairly) linear narrative. Sole Otero\'s work moves between conventional and less conventional style / mode / choices seamlessly. Not to be cute or avant-garde but just because sometimes there is a less conventional way that just works better. You leave feeling that more creators could move in that direction. (I am reminded of levels of organization of a protein - tertiary structure stores important information that nucleotide sequences don\'t encode. But I digress.)I am not saying that just because it was an official selection at Angouleme that it\'s good, but I am saying the book is amazing.As always, Fantagraphics put together a beautiful book.
