Beautiful William F. “Bill” Yee glass cloisonné covered dish or trinket box, decorated with water lilies and lily pads in vivid shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, green, pink, yellow and red, outlined in fine gold-tone metal wire.

The translucent glass construction produces an especially striking luminous blue interior. Both the domed lid and lower bowl are decorated, with gold-tone metal rims at the opening.

Yee developed and patented a distinctive method of producing cloisonné decoration over a glass substrate rather than the traditional opaque metal body. His U.S. Patent No. 6,238,756, titled Cloisonne Articles and Method of Making Same, was issued in 2001.
