🇺🇸 c.1958–1960 Queen Q Steel 5” Toothpick – Genuine Winterbottom Bone – Superb Mechanics - Well made knife
Offered here is an exceptional vintage Queen Cutlery Q Steel large toothpick, measuring approximately 5 inches closed and featuring beautiful genuine Winterbottom bone handles.
The knife carries Queen’s distinctive crowned Q STEEL tang stamp, dating this example to approximately 1958–1960. It is a wonderful representation of the substantial construction, distinctive bone work and craftsmanship associated with vintage Queen Cutlery.
Premium Genuine Winterbottom Bone
The handles are a major highlight of this knife. They display the unmistakable long, irregular grooves and warm natural coloration associated with genuine vintage Winterbottom bone.
The pile side is particularly remarkable, exhibiting exactly the deep, pronounced longitudinal character and contrasting honey-to-brown coloration collectors seek in premium Winterbottom. The opposite side has its own attractive character and coloration.
No cracks are noted in either handle.
Superb Mechanics & Construction
The mechanics of this knife are outstanding.
The long clip-point blade has strong, authoritative snap and is exceptionally solid in the open position with absolutely no blade wobble or play noted. The knife feels tight, strong and durable in hand, with excellent fit throughout—a fine example of the quality construction for which vintage Queen knives are respected.
Blade Condition
Has been lightly sharpened, but importantly, there is no notable blade loss observed. It remains very full and retains its original blade profile, including an excellent point and the long, sweeping shape that gives the 5-inch toothpick pattern its distinctive appearance.
The single blade displays attractive surviving finish along with minor marks and signs of age/use appropriate for a vintage knife.
