DETAILS:Original photograph lot of 29 photographs. Circa 1890-1940. These photos are what remains of a photo album compiled by two lesbian women starting in the late 1890s and continuing until about 1940.In some of the photos the women appear to be in drag and dressed as men.The photos include them along with their friends and lovers over approximately40 years.Together they comprise to tell the story of two women who appear to have been classmateduring the life they led together.


The photographs were originally compiledina largephoto album. Over time however, the albumbroke apart and many of the photos became loose. The previous owner, a niece of one of the compilers,tried her best to preserve them as a lot.
