A fantastic relic of the mid-19th century era of California's gold rush, this little pocket scale was used… well, for measuring gold of course! What else would you measure during a gold rush?
Its original tin still maintains the majority of its markings, and the scale appears to be complete with original weights as well.
The tin is fitted with a piece of wood with cutouts for all the different weights.
Tin measures 5.75" x 3.25" x 1 3/8".
