This beautiful piece of art is a Peruvian market retablo created by Nicario Jimenez. It showcases traditional Peruvian culture and is a perfect addition to any collector's display. The intricate details and vibrant colors make it a true masterpiece. The craftsmanship truly speaks for itself.
This retablo was bought by me at an art show many years ago directly from the artist at an art show that both of us were participating in. I know he used to participate in a lot of juried art shows and I know he’s won awards in these shows because I was a vendor in those same shows (those years would have been late ‘90’s and early 2000s), however I’m not sure if he’s still doing that. I also know the Smithsonian purchased some of his pieces so he’s well known and respected. The description and biography in the last two photos will come with the piece, because he gave it to me when I bought it.
The measurements are 4-3/4” wide at widest point with doors closed, with doors open it’s 9” wide x 9-1/2” tall x approx. 2-1/2” deep. There is one flaw on the bottom right front corner and I’ve show a photo of it, that was my mistake because I bumped it, everything else is how I received it. Most of the time I’ve had it it’s been in a box because lack of space to sit it out.
