From my long-held personal collection of meritorious silver. This handsome tray awaits a good new home.
Swedish born silversmith Julius Olaf Randahl (1880 – 1972) worked for Tiffany & Co. (New York) and Gorham Manufacturing Co.(Providence, Rhode Island) followed by a move to Chicago employed by the prestigious Kalo Shop. Randahl opened his own enterprise in 1911.
Randahl sterling hollowware was sold in major department stores including Marshall Field & Co. The manufacturing process was automated, but finishing was performed by hand. Julius Randahl was influenced by Georg JensenofDenmark.His work can be found in several museums and private collections around the world.
