WHY IS THIS RECORD A COLLECTOR'S ITEM?
"Hey Jude" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a non-album single in August 1968. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The single was the Beatles' first release on their Apple record label and one of the "First Four" singles by Apple's roster of artists, marking the label's public launch. "Hey Jude" was a number-one hit in many countries around the world and became the year's top-selling single in the UK, the US, Australia and Canada. Its nine-week run at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 tied the all-time record in 1968 for the longest run at the top of the US charts, a record it held for nine years. It has sold approximately eight million copies and is frequently included on music critics' lists of the greatest songs of all time.

“UP-CYCLING, WHEN WASTE BECOMES ART” BY CARLOS PLAZA
The concept behind this project is to reuse discarded objects or material in such a way as to create a new product of higher quality or value than the original.
This work seeks to transform waste into works of art. The concept, therefore, goes beyond the conventional recycling of materials by creating objects that exceed the economic, cultural, and social value of the original product.
CARLOS PLAZA - PHOTOGRAPHER / VISUAL ARTIST
Carlos Plaza is a native of Venezuela, a graphic designer by trade who has had a lifelong interest in photography, as well as in Visual Arts, specializing in ‘up-cycled art’ made with consumer plastic materials, like food containers.
Carlos’ latest ‘up-cycling’ pieces, shown here, are the result of his experiences growing up in Venezuela, where some of the most important ‘kinetic-opt art’ in history was produced in the 20th century by artists like; Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jesus Soto, Alejandro Otero and Gego, just to mention a few.
The concept behind these pieces is focused mostly in up-cycling food plastic (take out) containers, as well as plastic straws, and any other plastic materials, by making them into a piece of artwork that, ‘hopefully’, end up on someone’s wall, instead of in waste landfills or even worse... in our precious oceans.
