The Smith Premier No. 2 typewriter, introduced in the 1890s, is a notable machine in the history of typewriting. It features a full keyboard with both uppercase and lowercase letters, a significant innovation at the time. Unlike many contemporary typewriters, it has a "blind" typewriting system, meaning the typist cannot see the text as it is being typed because the typebars strike the underside of the platen.
The typewriter is in overall nice condition but needs to be serviced and cleaned. The carriage is not moving. It would be a great project and a stunning visual.
I am trimming down my collection and am listing a number of typewriters; please check my other sales.
