Description:
This wonderful mid 20th century hand sewn and appliquéd Cuna mola from the San Blas islands of Panama , has a pink background color with a centered oval motif with a cow with antlers in the middle, with writing on the top saying “partidore publicano”. There are also 7 stars on the bottom. There are charming cow heads in each corner of the mola! The colors are predominantly red with yellow, green , purple, blue , black and white . Molas were used as the front and the back of the blouses used by Cuna women. See photo for reference
