This 8 oz glass jar contains a colorful assortment of genuine lapidary stone scraps collected by my father in 1967 from Peck\'s Rock Shop in Battle Creek, Michigan.
The glass jar itself is modern—I purchased it recently to safely store and display the original stone scraps.
This collection has a special family story. Peck\'s Rock Shop was owned and operated by my maternal grandfather, and it is where my parents first met. These stone scraps have remained with our family ever since, making this more than just a jar of lapidary material—it\'s a small piece of Michigan rockhounding history.
Inside you\'ll find a variety of rough cutting scraps, including pieces of agate, chalcedony, quartz, and other lapidary materials from the shop. They\'re perfect for collectors, rockhounds, lapidary artists, educators, or anyone who appreciates vintage collections with authentic provenance.
As a little thank-you to the buyer, I\'ve tucked a genuine fossil specimen into the top of the jar as a surprise bonus. It\'s my way of sharing a little extra piece of the hobby that meant so much to my family.
You will receive the exact jar and contents shown in the photographs. Please examine all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
